Site Relaunch coming this Fall

With CSW Expo 2008 now behind us, this site will be re-launched once we've finalized our venue for CSW Expo 2009. We anticipate being able to make a decision Fall 2008, at which time this site will be refreshed along with online registration becoming available. For those who attended Expo 2008, we welcome your feedback by contacting us. We are always looking to make improvements based on attendee feedback. I've already received some valuable feedback, including from those who have contacted us through this site. I'd like to recognize both Steve Bauer and Tom Wells in this regard. In the meantime, most of the content of this site remains for those wishing to learn more about the expo in general.

That's a Wrap, Folks!

I've just returned home from CSW Expo and want to thank everyone for another record-breaking year! I'll be sure to post a recap here once I've had a chance to collect my thoughts. Looking ahead to 2009, we will be announcing when we are ready to accept online registration. We are re-visiting the event site for 2009 and will advise everyone when we have a contract in place so we can move forward.

More FAQ Support

As we approach 220 pre-registered attendees (update to site coming shortly!), we've added new content to the FAQ section to help address those attending, or considering to attend, CSW Expo for the very first time. This was prompted by an e-mail recently received, which made us realize that more care should be taken to help address any concerns for someone not familiar with our venue...especially if their experience has been influenced by other game conventions. You can check out our Newbie Concerns FAQ section here (and don't forget about the rest of our FAQ page!).

Propose Your Special Event

To facilitate gathering all special event proposals for CSW Expo 2008, we have created a Special Events Submission form. Typical venues are playtest sessions, organized tournament-format play, and seminars. We encourage all publishers, designers, and developers to submit their special event (typically, playtest sessions). We will have a Special Events page that lists all venues available shortly.

CSW Expo Group at the CSW Social Network

In case you missed the big announcement, we've launched the CSW Social Network. It's a great place to really network with gaming colleagues and form groups of like interest. We invite you to join our CSW Expo Attendees group, along with the other 55+ groups that have already formed since we launched this new service. So far, we have 15 members in our expo group, and I hope to welcoming more of you there as well.

Attendee Roster Now Online

The Attendees page has been updated for the first time and lists 54 registrants. That accounts for 25% of the total number of online registrants from last year, and all this within 48 hours of opening online registration! Game Sign-ups will receive it's first update shortly.

I'd like to recognize a few individuals who are registered. First, I want to salute Kevin Kinsel, who was our Star Performer recipient last year. Kevin has earned a free pass to this year's expo for his achievement. Also, I'd like to thank those who will be making the trek to AZ from across the Atlantic. Namely, Matthew Hayes (UK), Thomas Buettner (Germany), and Rian van Meeteren (The Netherlands). Minnesota is also in the house; of the 54 registrants thus far, no less than 8 hail from the Great White North.
