Barry SetserCongrats to Barry Setser of Millersville, Maryland. He was the first person to register for CSW Expo 2010! Barry was actually the second person to register for 2009, but then the first person had to drop out of the Expo at the last second, so Barry now holds an unbroken streak that is three years running.

What will Barry be looking forward to playing? Well, it's nearly a full year out from when the opening moves begin, but Barry has indicated at this time he would like to play Patton in Flames, published by Australian Design Group. The idea behind this alternative history game is that Patton convinced the Allies to take the war immediately to the USSR, using the Germans as their own allies. Weighing in at five maps and 1000+ counters, this is definitely a monster game.

We look forward to welcoming Barry back to the event, and we will be posting initial sign-ups over the course of the next week or two, so stay tuned!

Expo 2010 Site Now Live!

I'm pleased to announce the official relaunch of this website for CSW Expo 2010, our 10th Anniversary event! Online registration is now available. We are also running an introductory offer for those who register for the entire expo now...your $95 registration fee will include a FREE expo t-shirt! Once your register, please don't be shy and introduce yourself to fellow expo participants. I will send out an email blast to past attendees shortly to announce this site relaunch, which we've completed way ahead of schedule. Since we are gearing up for our big anniversary event, we wanted to get a big jump on registration as we build up to the big day. We appreciate those who can help spread the word as well!

To facilitate gathering all special event proposals for CSW Expo 2008, we have created a Special Events Submission form. Typical venues are playtest sessions, organized tournament-format play, and seminars. We encourage all publishers, designers, and developers to submit their special event (typically, playtest sessions). We will have a Special Events page that lists all venues available shortly.

CSW Expo Group at the CSW Social Network

In case you missed the big announcement, we've launched the CSW Social Network. It's a great place to really network with gaming colleagues and form groups of like interest. We invite you to join our CSW Expo Attendees group, along with the other 55+ groups that have already formed since we launched this new service. So far, we have 15 members in our expo group, and I hope to welcoming more of you there as well.
